JSC «Federal Passenger Company» is considering new routes to the Crimea


JSC “Federal Passenger Company” is working over new versions of the railway route from Russia to the Crimea in order to minimize the risks associated with the trains traffic on the territory of Ukraine, said the First Deputy General Director of JSC FPC Vladimir Kalyapin on Wednesday at roundtable in the Public Chamber.

“Now we are working over the rail routes to the Crimea including bypasses. The only problem is the second boundary between the Crimea and Ukraine “, – said Kalyapin, adding that the FPC will try to keep tariffs on train tickets according the 2013 year.

According to him the railroaders are ready to provide technologically railway passenger traffic volumes under 2013 year, although the decline in March in this area was 45% compared with the first spring month of 2013.

According Kalyapin, JSC “Russian Railways” last year served within the Crimean direction about 2 million passengers. The majority of Russians who had vacations in the Crimea, got there by rail and only 10% of them used plane.
